Summer Floods

These photos were taken this summer at the Monroe Reservoir just after there was severe flooding all over the southern part of Indiana. The rain came down so fast it was flooding before you knew it. A few of our friends had to be rescued out of their home by a backhoe while others had to be taken out by boat. Parts of main highways such as I-65 were closed for periods of time because of high water. Luckily, our house had no problems except for a little sewage backup in our basement shower.

Very interesting photos of the flooding. We had lots of flooding here in Iowa in June, too.

I hope there was not much loss of life and property. Such flash floods here cause lot of damage.

omg. isn't it a pity that the places that need water so badly don't get it, the places that don't, do get it.

All that lovely water being a nuisance rather than a blessing. When you are in the fifth year of drought it seems such a waste.

Now that's a post that a hydrologist can love. Which river? You mention the reservoir, but not the river.

Wow. I've never been anywhere where it flooded like this. How awful for the people living there.
